Sound Effects
As you know, sound effects are key elements to any film, and are used to set the mood of the film (ESPECIALLY IN HORROR!!) Sounds of footsteps, wind, doors cracking open, creaks, birds chirping, ALL of this makes the scene feel real and draws a lot of the audience's attention to the film. One film example is A Quiet Place, every little sound -footsteps or breathing- adds tension to the scene since even the tiniest noises could bring danger.
Sound-Only Scene
You may find this video clip familiar, as I was talking about it in a different blog called Sound. Today I'm going into a deeper look into this since it was a very quick and easy explanation in the last blog. As you know, our group set it up in a forest at night, with sounds like slow and steady footsteps with the sound of them walking on leaves, trees rustling, and wind blowing, with a faint grass tussle. As all these sounds build up together, the character hears this mad growling wolf. Perhaps the character ran into this wolf's babies! It then follows a SCREAM of HORROR! These sounds added together, made a major sense of danger that the audience now feels apart of.
Sound Effects - Next Film Coming Soon
So, now that you've seen how much work goes into just adding sounds to a black screen, it's time to add it to our next film plan. I also made a blog going into depth about our next film plan so you should check that our for more background information. This assignment has made putting together sounds seem more clear in my perspective just simply because of the fact we had to do it without adding any actual scenes of characters acting. Me and our group have a lot of great plans for what is going to be in this next film, and we are so excited to have you guys see the final product! I hope you guys enjoy it more than you did our first film of The Lost Bird, as this one will have more dialogue added along with sounds of suspense, and major major tenison!
